Comparison

Invoset vs accessiBe.

accessiBe sells an overlay widget. Invoset sells continuous testing. They solve different problems and the law treats them differently.

Pick Invoset when…

  • You want testing evidence, not a runtime widget.
  • You expect to fix issues in your own codebase.
  • Your legal team has flagged overlay claims as a risk.
  • You operate on Pro/Business tier and want a court-ready audit-trail PDF.

Pick accessiBe when…

  • You explicitly want a runtime widget on the page (visible toolbar, AI re-rendering).
  • You are okay with the overlay-vs-real-remediation debate.
  • Your buyer is procurement, not engineering.

What we won't pretend

We do not have a runtime widget.

If you specifically want a customizable on-page accessibility toolbar, accessiBe ships one. We chose not to build that for litigation reasons; you can read the official position of the National Federation of the Blind on overlays.

We do not promise lawsuit immunity.

No accessibility tool can. We document tested conformance and provide an audit trail; that is good-faith effort evidence, not a court ruling.

We do not have a mobile app scanner yet.

Web only at the moment. accessiBe doesn't either, but it's worth saying out loud.

Frequently asked

Is accessiBe better at WCAG 2.1 AA scanning?
Both products test against WCAG 2.1 A and AA. Invoset's reports cite the same standards; the difference is delivery (we hand you a remediation list, they ship a runtime overlay).
What does the National Federation of the Blind say about overlays?
NFB issued a 2021 statement urging members to avoid overlay-only solutions. The statement is publicly available on their site. Court records show overlays have not been a successful defense in ADA Title III suits.
Can I use both?
Yes; they target different surfaces. Some teams use overlay-style widgets while remediating in code, then drop the overlay once the underlying fixes ship.
